Description
10/2014 Cunningham Falls, Catoctin Mountains, Thurmont, Maryland
A view looking out from on top of Cunningham falls to the floor below and the autumn colors of the season.
Catoctin Mountain, along with the geologically associated Bull Run Mountains, comprises the easternmost mountain ridge of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which are in turn a part of the Appalachian Mountains range. The ridge runs northeast/southwest for about 50 miles (80 km) departing from South Mountain near Emmitsburg, Maryland, and running south past Leesburg, Virginia, where it disappears into the Piedmont in a series of low-lying hills near Aldie. The ridge forms the eastern rampart of the Loudoun and Middletown valleys.--Wikipedia

Like the title on this one because it does look like patchworks. Beautiful place and beautiful shot.

Love this! The colors and textures are so warm but it is that boardwalk or path that draws me...I want to walk that path, smell the leaves and fresh air and enjoy the beauty you have shared with us.

Thank you so much Karen! It really was an amazing day! Like you said about the air, had the smell of fall, with fires and damp leaves.
